This summer, The Clarendon Courier partnered with the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club (HJWC) to shine a spotlight on some of the local and regional non-profit organizations that we assisted during the 2019-2020 club year through grants. This past year, HJWC modified its giving approach to spread the proceeds raised through its annual benefit across multiple charities and was able to give grants to 18 deserving non-profit organizations.
Last fall, non-profit organizations submitted grant applications (check the philanthropy tab to download an application for 2019-2020) to the club for specific purposes, and in May, checks totaling $280,000 altogether were awarded to 18 organizations.
One of the grant recipients the The Clarendon Courier highlighted is Wellness House which is a Hinsdale-based non-profit organization that provides non-medical programs and services to individuals affected by cancer at no cost.
