Hinsdale Juniors Woman’s Club Scholarship Application

The Hinsdale Junior Woman's Club ("HJWC") is excited to announce that we will again award college scholarships to deserving female high school seniors in the Chicagoland area.

Our scholarship application is now closed. It will re-open in March of 2024 and scholarships will be awarded in May of 2024. Should you have questions regarding the application process, please feel free to email us at education@hjwc.us.

Please submit responses for all 3 questions below. Each response should be at least 500 words but no more than 1,000 length.

Financial Need

As a reminder, eligibility is limited to students of families with a combined annual income of less than $100,000, or to those who can demonstrate why this scholarship would make an impact on their college choice based on their personal financial situation, even with a combined annual income of more than $100,000.

**As a reminder, all documents must be UPLOADED by April 15, 2024 at 6 p.m. CT.**

1. A typed community and/or leadership experience list. This should include names and contact information of clubs/organizations served, capacity in which you served, number of hours/week and weeks/years of service for each organization, and a list of all community service projects completed in the last 2 years.

2. A letter of recommendation from at least one (but no more than three) teacher/organization/clubs/etc. in which you have served. This should indicate the duration and quality of your involvement and your accomplishments.

● I certify that the submitted information and documents are true to the best of my knowledge and ability.
● I understand that Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club (“HJWC”) reserves the right to disqualify incomplete
applications.
● I grant permission for my high school transcript, GPA, SAT and/or ACT scores to be verified by my high
school guidance counselor.
● I hereby acknowledge and agree to the following rules set forth by HJWC with regards to my application for one of the HJWC Education scholarships:
o The HJWC Education Committee reserves the right to interview applicants in the final stages
of selection.
o The scholarship decision of the HJWC Education Committee is final.
o Canvassing any member of HJWC shall result in immediate disqualification from consideration.
o Scholarship awards are subject to the availability of funds and are contingent upon acceptance and
enrollment in an approved higher education program (e.g., University, College, etc.)
o The scholarship monies will be sent directly to the approved program of the applicant’s choice.
o HJWC is permitted to confirm the scholarship recipient’s service/involvement in the activities
described in the application.
