Join the Fine Arts committee for a tour of the House Beautiful Whole Home 2023. House Beautiful, in partnership with J. Jordan Homes, has restored and refreshed a 13,000-square-foot landmark property in Hinsdale. For the first time ever, the House Beautiful has enlisted an all-female design team. Fifteen interior designers have lent their talents to transform this historic home. The home dates back to the turn of the 20th century, when it was built by Lemuel Freer. His wife Mary was a co-founder of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago and also headed the knitting department of the Hinsdale branch of the Chicago chapter of the American Red Cross during World War I.
The home was renovated by acclaimed architect David Adler decades later. All proceeds from the tickets will benefit Humble Design Chicago. Humble Design custom designs and fully furnishes home interiors for individuals, families and veterans emerging from homelessness.
