FAQs

What is Hinsdale Junior Women’s Club?

Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club (HJWC) was founded in 1949. HJWC members are local leaders of volunteer and philanthropic service and have earned tremendous recognition from the GFWC and IFWC throughout the years. In 2006, HJWC was the recipient of numerous awards at the GFWC Convention, and our organization is continuously recognized for outstanding children’s programs, leadership, membership and fundraising.

What are membership requirements?

Each member is required to do 3 hours of service. Our philanthropy committee, does an amazing job of identifying and coordinating opportunities throughout the year, so it is easy to find one that fits your schedule!

We ask that new members attend 50 percent of our general meetings (once a month, generally the second Tuesday) and committee meetings.

How often does HJWC meet?

Our general meetings are once a month (September thru May) and our committees meet independent of the general meeting. Committee co-chairs do their best to identify times when the majority of the committee can meet.
